Namaskar, Vannakkam, Hello and Welcome to the official website of the Student Council of India (SCI). SCI is a graduate student organization at the University of Maryland, CollegePark. It is a student body whose aim is to provide all the Indians at UMCP a common platform to interact. This website will tell you about what SCI is and what we at SCI, do, to create our own little India!

Occassion : This is a fun filled event and a SCI tradition wherein the seniors welcome the new Indian Grad students to the University of Maryland. There are a lot of games, music, masti and of course - tasty,spicy,tangy Indian food!!!!

SCI's past committees and the present council continue to keep the Indian spirit alive among the Indian graduates here. SCI, through the years has hosted a series of cultural and sports events alike, celebrated major festivals and organized special lectures and movie screenings. SCI also ensures that new students joining the University of Maryland feel welcome and have a smooth transition into their new life away from home.
